Hello, and Thank You for visiting. This site involves taking honest information about the cannabis plant directly to our official representatives (Lawkeepers such as State and U.S. Senators and Representatives), the media, and to the general public. It is a simple, peaceful campaign for truth, justice and humanity designed for activists without a lot of time or money.
1) Peacefully but relentlessly contact lawkeepers on every level to press the need for severe changes to our cannabis laws. There are many links below to help get you started.
2) Participate in some form of voter education campaign such as... writing Letters To the Editors and adding your polite, educated comment after articles online, and/or, distributing literature or buying ad space for pro-reform organizations.
Use any peaceful means to correctly describe the true effects of cannabis use on people and their loved ones vs the true effects of our cannabis laws, which affect nearly everyone (This is explained throughout the site).
3) Remind others to also share the truth and to contact their lawkeepers regularly and rationally. We must back each other up and build that massive pressure, and we must do this in nice ways, to more quickly lower the number of those who do not agree.

Most of us already know the current laws are wrong, but too many of us believe that writing to our lawkeepers for change won't help. I believe it's this kind of thinking that's helping to keep cannabis illegal. It's our constitutional duty to speak out against any unjust law to those who hold the keys to our laws, and in this day and age, there is NO excuse NOT to. See easy links below to take immediate action. Please cherish your ability to do so and remember that we really were the first nation to have it.
As more people become aware of the harmless and beneficial cannabis plant, there will be less tolerance for these harsh, ineffective and expensive laws. Politicians will either support change or look like fools.
Anyone willing to take the time to research cannabis and the laws surrounding it will conclude that punishing people for using this nontoxic plant is horribly wrong, but ignorant fear makes it all possible. There is nothing to fear from Cannabis sativa. Refuse to tolerate the dishonesty and the massive destruction. Contact your lawkeepers regularly and share what you know about this unique plant.
Please do not leave this site without sending some information to your State and U.S. Representative, your State and U.S. Senators, even your city council and governor. Begin by finding out where they stand by sending basic information and asking what they think, and please thank them if they are already showing their courage and knowledge - people love to be thanked. Let them all know that YOU know we can live quite well without cannabis prohibition. Then ask them to introduce and/or cosponsor positive bills. That's where the proof lies - with their actions.

IF NOTHING ELSE, please email your representative one time only, just to "Put your vote in" and let them know you support relaxing our cannabis laws at least enough so that people are not jailed for using it. You can simply say, "I don’t like using our taxes to arrest and imprison people who use cannabis," for example. Most of them need to know they have support before they will change anything.

Under 18ers: U. R. R. FUTURE!!! A lot of things, like pot, TV, video games, and stuff like that, can keep you from working as hard as you should. In all honesty, some of the worst things you can put into yourselves are: Alcohol, household inhalants, the opposite sex (Pregnancy happens. Abortions hurt and single mother/fatherhood overstress the family), and homemade meth. Mixing certain drugs can KILL you or mess you up GOOD! Education comes first, PLEEEZE! It's your current job, so please do a Good Job, and things WILL be easier down the line. So it's like "Delayed Laziness" -- FoReals, Y'all!
Besides, even though our "leaders" treat you like a nobody, they fail to realize how quickly you'll be ready to vote. Show them you are NOT a nobody and start studying up on how your government operates and the history of America. You WILL be in power one day. Use it wisely so we'll all be happier!

I do not want your money, but I am asking you to give some time to help free many wrongfully imprisoned people; many people who are entangled in expensive, stressful lawsuits; and many more who would honestly and safely be relieved of their agony by using clean, regulated cannabis (Not to mention the family members of all of the above, who suffer right along with these victims of injustice).
If we all were to take those 10 minutes a week to contact our leaders on this, things would change - Oh yes, they'd change.
Conversely, if you have ever paid any U.S. taxes, you have helped fund this horrible, legal harassment, and you probably had no choice but to give your money then, did you?
I know it's lethally boring, but we must turn our attention every now and then towards how our elected officials are spending their time and our money, and what the laws they pass are actually doing to America. We all gotta make it a habit, and www.downsizedc.org is a great place to start because they make it easy and interesting.
I am NOT braver than you. I really am a coward and I don't stand up to injustice near as much as I should, but this is worthy of fearless action because I and countless other people know without doubt:
1) Much suffering would be drastically reduced once these laws are removed.
2) Most people know these laws are a joke, so support for change IS there, just not vocal.
3) It won't end until congress feels adequate pressure - either financially or through us.
So go ahead and contact congress today - you'll love standing up for what's right! It's the perfect antidote to Big, Slothful, Porky Government. Yes, it IS harder than doing what you'd rather be doing, no doubt. I like to think of it as volunteer work that pays off in lower taxes and more freedom - what a bargain!
Be proud, because by taking action, you truly are defending Freedom, Truth, Justice, the Constitution Of The United States Of America, and YOURSELF (Drug laws affect non-users as well. It costs each tax-paying American about $500 a year, and anyone's door could be smashed in due to so many raids performed on anyone, it seems, without apology. Increased property theft is a product of our drug policy, not drug use. Plus, you're paying to keep drug dealers in business, since their jobs depend on prohibition. Did you know that?).
Also, understand that our elected officials are just as human as we are and succumb to greed, lust for power, and plain old spinelessness, just like we do. It's nothing new, so don't be TOO mad at them. It's HARD to do the right thing with all that peer pressure, especially if you have to admit you were wrong. Still, it's no excuse to keep ruining lives. In this case, millions of lives, with our billions of dollars. Every day is a good day for the truth, so please help end some suffering and take action today. Thank you.

There is no doubt that if we all were to pull together as one and focus on the simple truth that cannabis is safe to legalize, we would get these unjust laws removed SOONER rather than later, which means a LOT to those suffering RIGHT NOW, and to those who will be arrested in the future.

On top of getting with a group you like, you should always do your own thing, and refuse to give anything to ANY group who will not treat you like the valuable person you are. I'm going to support the ones who try their BEST to honestly uplift and mobilize people, and who use time and money responsibly. WHY I'M DOING THIS:
My name is Melanie M. Marshall, born November 5th 1968, and I've been independently researching the drug war for many years. It all began when a friend was arrested for possession of cannabis after an illegal search in 1996. I knew that what had happened was wrong and since then, I've been gathering information on cannabis and other drugs, prohibition laws, and how our "free" country came to be. I have come to four solid conclusions:
Cannabis can be used responsibly.
Prohibition creates more problems than it solves.
America declared independence from Great Britain to escape from the very same abusive actions our very own government is currently performing.
Cannabis is safer than cigarettes or alcohol. (Thank God this one is almost 100% established)
The real-life drama of learning about America's War on Drugs has been fascinating and shocking. Who needs Reality TV when you have Big Government? I hope you visit many links, learn things you never knew before, and I hope that you feel inspired to tackle anything evil in any peaceful way you see fit.
I love America VERY much and I DON'T WANT us to deteriorate to the point where we are no different than deeply corrupt countries. I am grateful every time I work on ending prohibition because that is a real freedom that millions, perhaps billions of other humans on this planet just don't have! We and/or our families could be TORTURED/KILLED for doing things like this in some other countries - no lie. So love your freedom, and work to KEEP it every chance you get, because freedom is just not free, but it's a lot cheaper and more fun than slavery.
I started distributing information on my own in 2000, how and when I wanted. I like it because, no matter how nervous I get before I go out door-knobbing, sign-hanging, leafleting, or sign-waving, most everyone loves the message and it's fun - exhilarating, even! Plus I know that innocent people in jail are waiting for us out here to get the laws changed, so I just have to do all I can. If I were in jail, I'd be praying people were working to get me out. Please help them, and thanks.
To be fair to our poor, swollen government, it is understandable that confessing the truth will be painful (THIS IS ONE REASON LYING IS WRONG!). But it would be wise to get the unpleasantness over with and then gain respect for proper action later down the line. Prohibition is simply un-American, and our "free" country is becoming one of the few countries that support prohibition, which was started by Americans over 100 years ago. It's time.
By the way, this site was written by someone who has used cannabis almost daily since 1996, I have no health problems to report, my life is in fine order, we have no debt, our home is well stocked and organized, we practice good nutrition and hygiene, and we have no mean fights. Life is GREAT, thanks be to God! The only thing that could mess up this peaceful, productive life besides a horrible accident/disease would be our police knocking on (or down) my door to harass me and my family about my using what works for me to help stabilize my moodiness - naturally. Is this what you want to support with YOUR tax dollars? You DO have a choice!
FYI, if it helps you to understand that you do not need to fear cannabis, I use about an ounce every month, I use it much like one would take cigarette breaks - every few hours. It greatly helps me control my temper and irritability, as much as I'd love to be able to control them myself - and I have tried, with four counselors and a horrible prescription drug. But the fact remains: Cannabis really improves the quality of life for me and my family, safely. It does not cure my moodiness, but it balances me out, calms me down, and I am much more productive. I do not forget to feed/care for/watch my child, and I am all in order (Thanks be to God that I am a stay-at-home-mom. That really helps keep things in order, too).
So please don't be so scared of pot that you refuse to ask questions. Cannabis is a blessing to me and many others, I am so glad I found it, because it is harmless and helpful.
I've never taken any other drugs besides alcohol, nicotine (Don't smoke unless you want to keep smoking - it's so addictive and took me 5 good tries to quit. I am SO glad I quit, and you can, too! You have to be ready, though. Best Wishes!), and cannabis (In that order), but I understand that other drugs have been blown way out of proportion also, and lies only hurt the very people that the drug war aims to protect: Our children. God bless them.
Anyway, I just had to share all this because we need to get going with the truth. I am really ashamed how people can hang on so tightly to their false information. I am so saddened by their enthusiasm to hurt others. God bless them into goodness, please!

I firmly believe that changing cannabis laws would do the most good in the shortest period of time, due to the number of people caught up in the system from cannabis law violations AND the number of people who would honestly find relief from agonizing pain by using cannabis, PLUS all the people close to the people mentioned above who are also put through the wringer when their loved one suffer more due to BAD LAWS.
