Q: What is this?
A: It's a peaceful, honest, letter-writing, sign-waving, educational campaign that will keep going until people are no longer being arrested just for using cannabis! It attempts to draw out every pro-pot voice possible all year long, but especially on or around May 5th every year. May 5th is also always right on or next to the Global Marijuana March, and I am hoping to utilize the energy created from that march to prod people into taking a bit more action than they normally would, pushing us that much closer.
I believe that as crooked as some politicians can be, they want to be re-elected more than anything, sooooo, YOUR VOICE MATTERS!! Even if you can't vote because of a felony due to a drug charge, YOU CAN spread the truth and work to get your right restored. Get out there and SHINE! Tell the TRUTH!

Q: What's the 555 for?
A: 1) May 5th, 2005 is the date I began this campaign. It started as an attempt to get people to attend peaceful sit-in protests outside and around their rep's offices starting on 5/5/5 and continuing solidly until the laws began to change towards national legalization.
That didn't work, so I tried to unify every group you see listed on the Front Page of this site (MOST every group - the list has changed some since then), asking them all to focus our efforts on this MOST harmful policy until the end of that policy, but no one was interested in that, either.
Now, I'm just trying to get people to contact congress at any time (And concentrating on May 5th), and STILL, people are afraid. So, I'll just use this site to keep on sharing the truth and encouraging people to speak up anyway, and hopefully one day, groups will begin to work together more while focusing on the suffering of the victims of these laws. That would surely help get things done, tell ya what.
2) The three 5's look cute...nice, less threatening-looking for some reason. And, "555" occurs a LOT in everyday life, so that might remind people in the movement to DO SOMETHING FOR FREEDOM when they see them. Just a fantasy, I know. Gotta have fun for freedom! :)
3) It leaves "makepotlegal.org" open for anyone else wishing to help change these horrible laws in their own way.

Q: Is there a disclaimer?
A: Yes. Having the freedom to choose your activity means taking responsibility for the results of your harmful decisions. Without responsibility, there can be no freedom. No justice, no peace. Plan your activities carefully and please be peaceful! Have fun with it, seriously!!
Q: How many hits/visits on this site?
A: As of March 7, 2008, there have been about 45,000 individual visitors (Like YOU!). The actual hits the site gets is about 2500 per month. NEAT!
I hope people are getting encouraged to write to congress more often, and I hope members of congress are noticing that more people are writing in - KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, EVERYONE!!
